Webcast to Probe Cell Phone Safety

Reid Thompson, M.D., director of the Vanderbilt Brain Tumor Center, will wade into the swirling debate about whether cell phones induce brain cancer during a Webcast, Friday, Aug. 22, from noon to 1 p.m.
He will discuss what scientists know about the genesis of cancerous brain tumors during the “Patient Power” webcast hosted by Andrew Schorr, a leukemia survivor and patient educator.
A highly publicized memo from the director of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute about the risk of cell phones revived debate about their safety.
“There have been several well-designed studies researching a possible link between cell phone exposure and brain cancer and right now the science doesn’t support this link,” Thompson said.
Ezra Fitz, a 31-year-old Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center patient, will join Thompson and Schorr.

From what I have been reading, the studies that are out there only look at short term use of cell phones. Europe has been looking closer at this problem.
My brother has been recently diagnosed with 4th stage glioma with 4 brain tumors. He had a tumor the size of a fifty cent piece removed from the back of his ear. (Right where he puts his cell phone.) He has used cell phones for over ten years for more than 8 hours a day as a salesmen who worked every minute on a cell phone. He is 55 years old and does not have much longer to live. This disease can not be cured.
I fear that the cell phone industry is conducting a campaign similar to the cigarette industry’s long fight to stop the information that the product KILLS.
Please keep looking into this issue and warning our children to keep cell phone use down and away from their heads.

so if the cell phone might be the cause of brain tumors and CA, what about using ear pieces? does that cause a risk also?
