Cancer Center Retreat Slated for May 5

The annual Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center research retreat will be held Tuesday, May 5, from 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the Vanderbilt Student Life Center. The focus of this year’s retreat is “Mechanics of Malignancy, Tumor Angiogenesis and Metastasis.”
Speakers include Kari Alitalo, M.D., Ph.D., University of Helsinki, Suresh Mohla, Ph.D., National Cancer Institute, Erik Sahai, Ph.D., London Research Institute, Melody Swartz, Ph.D., Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Valerie Weaver, Ph.D., University of California, San Francisco and Ronald Obenauf, colon cancer survivor and research advocate.
A poster competition on all cancer-related topics will be held during the free retreat. Graduate and medical students and postdoctoral and clinical fellows are eligible for the prizes.
