Eddie George to Host Dunkin’ Donuts Fun Run & Walk-a-Thon

October 12, 2009

Former Tennessee Titans Eddie Georg and his wife, Survivor cast member Taj and their children Jaire and Eddie Jr. will host the second annual T.J. Martell Foundation’s Dunkin’ Donuts Family Fun Run and Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at Centennial Park.

The event raises funds for the T.J. Martell Foundation and its Frances Williams Preston Laboratories at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.

Presented by Crownover Tisinger, the event will feature performances by popular tween acts pureNRG, Madison Cain and actor/singer Luke Benward plus a family picnic with Dunkin’ Donuts, Baskin Robbins Ice Cream, a cookout by Applebee’s and other food samplings from Maggiano’s Little Italy.

“We are incredibly honored and excited to host this year’s event,” Taj George said on behalf of the Eddie George family. “We are bringing out the whole family to the activities. There is nothing better than sharing a morning run with kids followed by Dunkin’ Donuts and a big scoop of Baskin Robbins ice cream along with the full family picnic. And to benefit such an amazing cause really tops it off!”

The 5K fun run and walk will lead participants around the beautiful Centennial Park and conclude with the family picnic, performances and games for the kids including the inflatables, bungees, face painting, clowns, balloon artists and more.

Proceeds will benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation’s mission of funding innovative cancer research at the Frances Williams Preston Laboratories at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.

“In just one year, the Dunkin’ Donuts Family Fun Run and Walk-A-Thon has become an important part of the Dunkin Brands organization,” says Joe Rando, Event Chairman. “This event embodies Dunkin’s commitment to become part of the fabric of their communities and give back. ‘Dunkin’ Donuts’, ‘Baskin-Robbins’, and ‘families’ all go together. And, to be doing this all in support of the T.J. Martell Foundation’s efforts to find a cure for cancer … it’s just wonderful.”

Fun run participant pre-registration before November 5 is $25 by visiting http://www.funrunandwalk.com. After November 5, the fee is $35. All participants receive a fun run t-shirt with picnic and family activities. For families who wish to participate in the picnic only, the family four pack is $35.
