VUMC Launches Women’s Wellness Series

Vanderbilt Health One Hundred Oaks will introduce a new Women’s Wellness Series this fall, with sessions on breast cancer risk, heart disease prevention and advances in dermatology.

Drs. Ingrid Meszoely and John Huff of the Vanderbilt Breast Center will kick off the free series on Tuesday, Sept. 21, with “Developing News about Breast Health: Keeping Abreast of Your Risks.” The pair will discuss how to assess your risk of developing breast cancer and the steps you can take to protect yourself, including screening mammography.

Future topics and speakers include:
• “Prevent a Broken Heart. Healthy Heart: Prevention and Detection,” Dr. Emily Kurtz of the Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute, Tuesday, Oct. 19
• “Face It: You Can Look Younger. New Procedures in Dermatology,” Dr. Michel McDonald, Dermatology at One Hundred Oaks, Tuesday, Nov. 16

Each event will be at Vanderbilt Health One Hundred Oaks, 719 Thompson Lane, Entrance D.

Refreshments will be offered beginning at 5:30 p.m. The program will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a question-answer period at 6:45 p.m.
