John Wilson, PhD, assistant professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Vanderbilt University, received a $50,000 research grant at the 2019 Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center Ambassador Breakfast.

The Nashville Predators hockey team, longtime supporters of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and its programs, presented the hospital with the proceeds raised throughout the year from the team’s 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund.

Vanderbilt Health physicians will be among the runway models during the 7th Annual T.J. Martell Foundation Chic Awearness on Sept. 23.

Charles Caskey, Ph.D., has received a cancer research grant from The Mary Kay Foundation to study how focused ultrasound therapy could be an ideal helper for immunotherapy.

Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne, Predators executives and executives from Tri Star Energy (Twice Daily) made their annual presentation recently of proceeds from the team’s 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

The T.J. Martell Foundation’s 6th Annual Chic Awearness fundraising event that supports ovarian cancer research at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) will be held Monday, Sept. 24, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., at Analog at the Hutton Hotel, 1808 West End Ave.

Debra Friedman, MD, director of the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, has been awarded a $100,000 Hyundai Hope on Wheels Impact Award. The grant was celebrated in a “handprint ceremony” with Hyundai representatives on June 12.
